The Mockingbird is Arkansas’s small and cute state bird. It is a very tiny bird with gray and white feathers. The bird is known to sometimes mock the whistling of other birds.
The Apple Blossom is Arkansas’s state flower. The Apple Blossom is white with pink mixed into the white color. The beautiful flower grows off of tree branches.
Arkansas’s state tree is the pine tree. This coniferous tree has pointy dark green needles, and produces pine cones that birds and squirrels like to eat seeds out of.
Arkansas’s state seal was adopted in 1864. The outer ring of the seal contains the text, "Great Seal of the State of Arkansas”. The inner ring contains the Sword of Justice, the Angel of Mercy, and the Goddess of Liberty surrounded by a bald eagle.
On Arkansas’s state flag, the outside twenty five stars represent that Arkansas was the twenty fifth state to join the union. The top star in the center, represents that Arkansas was a member of the Confederate States during the Civil War. The other three stars represent the countries that had earlier ruled the land that includes Arkansas, which was Spain, France and the United States.
